Day 01 Negombo - Wilpattu

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel at Anuradhapura. We will then visit the Wilpattu National Park, a beautiful park that is 132 hectares and 152 metres above sea level. There are about 60 lakes and tanks throughout Wilpattu, which also is the largest, and one of the oldest parks in Sri Lanka. Cross your fingers as we hope you can spot some of the leopards here. Explore the park in the afternoon and relax at the safari transit hotel.

Day 02 Anuradapura - Avukana - Sigiriya

Visit the ruins of Anuradhapura and then proceed to Avukana to see the Avukana Buddha. The statue at 40 feet has been carved out of a large granite rock. Built in the 5th century, it was commissioned by King Dhatusena, and one of the specialities of this statue is the robe Buddha wears. Carved intricately, it is truly a visual treat. Take a break on the Kalawewa bund, and move on to Sigiriya for the night.

Day 03 Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

Set out to climb the Sigirya Lion Rock early in the morning. At 200 metres, this structure was built by King Kassapa in the 5th century. Today Sigiriya is a World Heritage Site. You also have the option to go on an elephant-back ride before we proceed to Polonnaruwa - the second most ancient kingdom of Sri Lanka as declared by King Vijayabahu. Today the ancient city remains one of the best-planned archaeological sites in the country, and has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. We spend the sunset hours at Minneriya, and head back to the hotel for the night.

Day 04 Dambulla - Matale - Kandy

We visit the Dambulla Cave Temple in the morning and check out the five major caves before moving on the spice and herb garden in Matale. Known for its sandalwood, margosa, cocoa, citronella, almond, jasmine and coconut, you can also check out cloves, pepper, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and saffron that grow in the natural surroundings. After the tour of the spice garden, we move to Kandy for an evening of cultural programmes, where you can witness various styles of Kandyan dance.

Day 05 Kandy - Peradeniya - Pinnawala - Nuwara Eliya

We begin our day with an early morning trip to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. From there we check out the Royal Botanical Gardens, which is known for its collection of orchids.

Incidentally, the garden is home to more than 4000 species of plants, covering about 147 acres of land. From there we proceed to Pinanwala Elephant Orphanage that is known for its largest herd of captive elephants in the world. From Pinnawala, we move to Nuwara Eliya, visiting a tea factory and stopping by Ramboda Falls on the way. An even city tour and walk around the lake is also included in the itinerary.

Day 06 Horton Plain - Ella

We set out for Horton Plains Rain Forest at 5am. The plateau, at an altitude of 2300 metres, is home to large herds of sambhar. We'll also check out World's End and Baker's Falls.

From there we take a train ride to Ella where your driver will pick you up. The sleepy village of Ella is nestled in a valley, and is perfect for unwinding.

Day 07 Nuwara Eliya - Hikkaduwa

We wind up Nuwara Eliya with a visit to Adam's Peak and the Rawana Falls before proceeding to Hikkaduwa for your stay by the beach.

Day 08/10 Hikkaduwa

Spend four glorious nights at Hikkaduwa, exploring the small fishing village and checking out various things to eat. Plus you can always indulge in different kinds of beach sports.

Day 11 Hikkaduwa Negombo

After breakfast, we'll transfer you to Colombo for your departure.
