Day 01 Negombo

Upon arrival at Colombo airport, you will be met with, and transferred to your hotel Horners Club in Negombo.

Negombo was once heralded as the island's premier spice town. It then progressively evolved into the biggest fishing port, a centre of Roman Catholicism, and one of the original tourist resorts, thus crowning it the Little Rome of Sri Lanka. This town has a quaint atmosphere, with bustling little streets, delightful canals, interesting creeks, an extensive lagoon and interesting architecture all over the place. Enjoy watching the old world fishing crafts like the outrigger canoes and the catamarans that bring a variety of marine fishes such as seer, skipjack, pomfret and amber-jack. In the lagoon, lobsters and prawns are caught and served as delicacies in the restaurants.

In addition, the Negombo Fish Market is a must-visit, apart from the beach of course.

Day 02 Wilpattu

After breakfast, we transfer you to Wilpattu in Anuradhapura. From there you'll get to visit the Wilpattu National Park, which is about a three-hour drive. The park is one of the oldest in Sri Lanka and is filled with wildlife including the leopard and other wild animals. Plus there's lots of flora and fauna to enjoy.

Day 03 Anuradapura - Avukana - Sigiriya

After breakfast, we'll go to Kekirawa to visit the Avukana Buddha statue. At 40 feet, it is a carved construction made during the 5th century. It is said that this stone sculpture has the closest resemblance to the standing Buddha. The statue has been influenced by Gadhara and Amarawati schools of art in India, which were considered to be two of the most popular art schools during its time. The statue is constructed out of large granite and was constructed by the great king Dhatusena.

Day 04 Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

After breakfast, you will be taken to climb the Sigiriya rock, which is an archeological site. The very famous Sigiriya has an ancient tale to narrate. The visitors from around the world get attracted to this miraculous Lions rock, which narrates a legend to all. King Kassapa who fled from the guilt of killing his own father selected this site to make the illusions of a magical land come true. He Made Sigiriya one of the magical lands with the rock palace and was known as the 'Lions Rock' or Sigiriya. The palace consisted charming and popular frescoes. Mirror wall, boulder and terrace gardens. It is also believed that this site used to cherish during his reign. He spent most of his late time alone on the terrace garden mourning about his father's death with guilt. Visitors of Sigiriya have the opportunity to enjoy the view of the moat, pools in the garden complex, fountain gardens, man made shelter with brick walls, ruins of the lions mouth, remains of the indent in the rock, terrace below the mirror wall and summit ruins. Later, proceed to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, which was declared by King Vijayabahu. You can also indulge in elephant-back rides in the afternoon.

Day 05 Dambulla - Kandy

After breakfast get ready to explore some really interesting places in Sri Lanka. The Dambulla comprises five exquisite caves - The 'The cave of Lord of the Gods, Cave of great kings, Cave of great new temple, Cave of western temple, and The cave of second new temple - all of which possess various ancient paintings of Lord Buddha (157 images within caves). The in house cave designs and painting s spread over the walls and the ceilings of the caves. From the caves of Dambulla, we move to the world-renowned spice garden of Matale. Here you can see plenty of spices and herbs growing in their natural surroundings.

From Matale, we go to the final destination for the day - Kandy. The Golden city narrates a story of culture, history, religion, politics, and natural beauty. This hill country along with the temple of tooth relic is a must-see, which we will explore the following day.

Day 06 Pinnawala

Visit the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage and get the opportunity to spend some quality time with orphan elephants. At the orphanage you can witness how these orphan baby elephants are brought up. Take your chance to feed them and milk them with bottles and even take a turn to bathe them at the river. Upon returning to Kandy, we will visit The Temple of Tooth Relic (Sri DaladaMaligawa); The old royal palace compound; Lankatilake and Gadaladeniya temples; Embekke Temple; The Royal Botanical Gardens, and check out the local art and craft.

Day 07 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya - the 'heart' of the tea country - is located at an elevation of 1980 metres in the central highlands, and offers tropical abundance and a cool mountain climate. This is where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course, and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Nuwara Eliya offers many activities including visits to tea plantations, golfing, and horse riding, boating, hiking and of course exploring the beauty of the landscaped gardens, waterfalls and plateaus. Visit Hakgala Botanical Garden. Enjoy the Gregory Lake boat safari, and the surrounding of the lake. Hire a boat if you would like to do a day's rowing and sailing. The beautiful garden is laid around the lake providing great site for strolling, jogging and walking as well.

Day 08 Horton Plains

Horton Plains National Park

Get ready for a day of activity ahead. You will be taken to see the Horton Plains National Park where you can let out the adventurer in you. This park is considered to be one of Sri Lanka's best eco-toursim spots. Discover the forest hidden in the hill top, the mind blowing landscapes and wild mammals as deer, squirrels, wild bore, wild hare, porcupine, leopards and various bird and flora varieties. Enjoy a turn of trekking and nature trails at the hills.

Day 09 Ella

Little Adam's Peak

Enjoy your breakfast and proceed to Ella to visit the Little Adam's peak, which is at a height of 1141 meters. Walk through the paddy fields as you stop to admire the beautiful waterfalls and tea plantations.

Day 10 Yala

Yala National Park

On this day we move to Yala National Park after breakfast. With trumpeting elephants, monkeys crashing through the trees, peacocks in their finest frocks and leopards sliding like shadows through the undergrowth, Yala National Park (also known as Ruhunu) is The Jungle Book brought to life. This vast region of dry woodland and open patches of grasslands is the big draw of this corner of Sri Lanka.

Day 11/12 Yala - Hikkaduwa

After breakfast, we move to Hikkaduwa and enjoy three nights on the beach and indulge in beach sports that include volleyball, jet skiing, skiing, diving, snorkeling and swimming.

In the early 1960s, Hikkaduwa, a small fishing village, was transformed into a hub of international tourism, becoming Sri Lanka's most sought after holiday destination along the western coast. Easy to reach within a short drive from Colombo, the beautiful white sandy beaches, colorful coral reefs and excellent surf attract people the world over. A ride in a glass bottomed boat through the shallow sea to view the colorful coral reef is one that both local and foreign visitors look forward to. Beach restaurants and bars, shops and nightclubs provide the background for a carefree stay.

Day 13 Hikkaduwa - Colombo

We transfer you to Colombo after breakfast and you can spend a day on the city tour, other sightseeing places and do some shopping.
